Piazza
Piazza is a free online gathering tool where students can ask and answer questions. A free Q&A platform. It's a website where you can share ideas and knowledge about a class. A tool which encourages interaction. Students are able to anonymously post questions which I believe to be a benefit since many students are shy to ask questions in class and with this tool they have a platform to ask questions. Students, TAs, and Professors are able to answer any questions posted. It is also a benefit to see different people come up with the same answer and with this tool it is made possible. Multiple students can answer a single question. Over 50,000 professors in 2,000 schools and 90 countries have chosen Piazza! One professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn that uses Piazza is Professor Alan Wiggins. This tool encourages collaborative work outside the classroom. Piazza is a tool that is student-centered. As someone who has used Piazza it is a resourceful tool and I would recommend to have in your classroom!
