Freerice.com is a website I was introduced to in middle school. This website is an English Vocabulary website that helps students learn vocabulary. This website is aimed for a younger audience. A student simply types in freerice.com and the homescreen is the actual game. the students have four options to decide what a word means. The thing that stands out most to me is that fact that every word a user gets correct, 10 grains of rice is donated through the world food program to help end hunger. So, not only is the student learning vocabulary, they are also donating to a good cause! One cool thing about this website is that while you are learning their vocabulary there is an empty bowl on the right side of the screen that fills with rice every time you get a question correct. the visual of seeing how much rice you are personally donating is a cool concept.
