Over the past few years smartphone users saw the boom of an app called
Trivia Crack. This app saw huge numbers of users of all ages, and while
it was educational, the player cannot chose a level or "grade" of
content to play as. With most students tween age and old having
smartphones there's ways to have them use that source of entertainment
for some education.
While Trivia Crack lacks quite a bit of "educational
tool" ability, Quizup (Click here to visit their webpage)
is the same idea as trivia crack but allows for the content of the
questions to be a specific topic. While there are hundreds of categories
to choose from, there are still the important educational basics like
science, geography, history, etc. The app can also be linked with social
media (such as Facebook) which allows users who know one another to
compete with each other. It would be great to set up an at home
competition between the students to keep them thinking about class when
they get home This is an excellent medium for students to be able to be
rewarded for paying attention in the classroom and then retaining it
outside of the school walls.
