ZipGrade

ZipGrade is an app which allows teachers to easily and quickly grade multiple choice questions simply by taking a picture of it with an iPhone or iPad. This turns the phone or tablet into an optical imaging machine just like scantron. Students get instant feedback on their exit tickets and quizzes as soon they finish it. It can grade 20 test a minute, and the number of questions on the answer sheets can be 20, 50 or 100. These answer sheets are free to download.
It is very easy to use. All you need to do is to create quiz in a separate document and then attach an answer sheet to it. Students mark their answers on it. To grade, you hold your phone over the answer sheet. ZipGrade will capture the image, and phone will vibrate when you will do so.
Creating test and quizzes on the app is super easy. You can do it either by scanning your answer key or simply by toggling the correct answers on the screen. You have an option of creating quiz with 100 questions and the active questions can be anywhere on the answer sheet. ZipGrade does not only work with the multiple-choice questions but also with partial credit or alternative versions with answer keys. Even extra credit questions can be added. The students score will be based on what he got on the primary answer sheet and any extra point will be counted as extra credit. Also, you do not have to be connected to internet while using it. You can be offline, and still will be able to use it to scan, grade and review the assessments. In short, the students love the instant feedback, and the teachers love the ease of grading.
