SchoolTube is an excellent resource to use in classrooms, especially if the teacher wants to assign multimedia projects that can be shared with the class. SchoolTube is similar to YouTube but it is monitored and safe for students to use without the worry of something inappropriate coming on. It can be used for students to make and submit video projects on or even as a class newscast or place to share videos of the students doing activities such as school concerts or field day. This resource is excellent to show off the students' skills or fun things they do to parents. I plan on trying this resource out in my future classroom because I think it is a safe alternative to posting videos on YouTube for parents and students to see and that students and parents will love being able to see what we have done in class.
I like this site because in my experience where media has been able to be used the children's faces could never be shown. It does not seem like this the case here. So it is a pleasant change from Facebook and Twitter
