Epic
is an online book site. I first heard about Epic from my daughter’s teacher. They
started using Epic in the classroom as a classroom resource; it is free for
teachers and classrooms to use. She had an account that she would use at school
and when she tried to login at home she could not. So we bought a subscription
for the family to use, once I saw the website I thought it was great. We
purchased a monthly membership for $5.99 a month; we have 5 different book
accounts kind of like Netflix. When your child reads you can see what they are
reading how long they are reading and they have medals/levels the kids can earn
through reading which a great incentive is for the children. I like epic most
because of all of the amazing books it has, there are books for all ages, and it’s
free for teachers and librarians. This is such a great classroom resource
imagine all of the books that you won't have to purchase. In addition to that
it is another way to bring a technological resource into the classroom.
