Pinterest

A website and app that allows users to explore, organize, and save pictures and websites about any topic imaginable — from home decorating to celebrity news, recipes to fashion, and DIY projects to games — Pinterest is a dream for educators.
For secondary and primary teachers alike, Pinterest offers a myriad of ideas for coloring sheets, lesson planning, classroom organization and set up, activities, crafts, worksheets, and anything else you could possibly think of, in a simple, pin-a-photo-on-a-board format.

As a daycare teacher, I wanted the kids to participate in fun, holiday-themed activities last Halloween. So, I took to Pinterest for ideas pertaining to preschoolers. After sorting through the choices, I landed on a few for coloring sheets and found one for "feel boxes" and what to put in them. It sparked my imagination to create my own out of old tissue boxes, using pumpkin seeds for fingernails, grapes for eyeballs, popcorn kernels for teeth, and oiled macaroni noodles for brains.
