Rubicon Atlas
Rubicon Atlas is a site which enhances the curriculum, by allowing teachers and administrators to use this site in different ways. For teachers, this site allows them to post important information or documents onto their own dashboard, so students can see what is important for them to know. When a teacher pins this on their dashboard, students are able to see the curriculum, and know what is important for them to know. To customize their site, teachers can have different sites where others can go to see what the curriculum is, and view previous lesson plans and assessments. Along with organizing the curriculum, this site helps teachers track progress, like showing what worked efficiently, and what needs improvement. The analytical tools help organize the site and improve learning and teaching by presenting the data clearly and making it understandable. The last, and best tool, is the Unit Orientation tool, which illustrates a basic guideline to show what would happen if a unit is not finished on time. In my opinion, this technology is very useful to teachers, especially new teachers who are getting used to the whole curriculum, and communication with their students. The pacing feature, Unit Orientation, is another helpful tool that can teach teachers how to pace, and let them know if they need to speed things up or slow them down. I would definitely use this technology when I become a teacher.
