HoodaMath.com
I
first heard of HoodaMath.com when my oldest was in elementary school a few
years ago. It is an online math game site that her school used as a “center”
rotation. There are over 700 games to choose from. The games have levels that
cover Kindergarten through High School. There are over a dozen categories to
choose from including shopping, geometry, physics, or logic. These categories
will utilize simple addition to algebra. At the bottom of each game screen there is a
list of Common Core Standards that are utilized within the game, if any. What I
really like is that there is free teacher registration. The
teacher can make a classroom page that will only list approved games that may
parallel whatever lesson he or she would choose. The students simply log into the
teachers classroom page and the game selection would not be so overwhelming, plus I did feel like some of the games were questionable. My 5th
grader and I were exploring some of her favorite games today. One of her favorites
is from the logic and physics area. Red Remover…check it out…
