Flipgrid is a platform that allows people to record and upload short videos. At the end, you have the opportunity to take a selfie and customize it with fun stickers and words. This can be very helpful in classes (such as foreign language classes) that place a lot of emphasis on verbal participation. For example, in my Spanish 101 course, the professor assigns Flipgrid videos where we have to record ourselves answering questions in Spanish using the lessons we've learned in the class that chapter. She creates a topic (a folder of sorts that houses the students' responses) and, in the description of the topic, places questions that she wants us to answer.
One of the features that I find awesome (aside from the fact that it is completely free and comes in the form of an app as well) is that students have the option of watching other students' responses. This can be beneficial to students because they can build off of one another and learn from each other.
