Google Cardboard

Google Cardboard is an invention created by Google that lets you experience the world of Virtual Reality using cardboard and your Smartphone. An affordable and immersive technology, the simple download of an app and fifteen dollars (along with your monthly cell phone bill) can bring you to experience life as you’ve never seen it before. Google Cardboard is compatible with most Android or iOS phones with screen sizes from four to six inches and the cardboard is easily assembled within three steps.

YouTube also offers Virtual Reality videos that can be watched with Google Cardboard on your mobile device. Some Virtual Reality videos that can be watched on YouTube are the Angel Falls in Venezuela, realtime footage of the Aurora, or paragliding above Chott el Jerid. These videos can be used inside the classroom through the Google Cardboard lens to explore other environments or experiences that are being studied. There are even videos that can give you a 360-degree view of Outer Space!

Google Cardboard is an exciting way to explore life outside of your natural elements, and as low as fifteen dollars a pop, it’s worth a shot!

Other variations are available. Check them out here.
