OBS

Open Broadcaster Software, more commonly known as obs, is a free and open source software originally meant for live streaming video and audio, but is also used to record video locally. This program is extremely popular, and because of this there are a wide variety of extensions that add extra features. The main reason that I recommend the software though, is because it is completely free and open source. This means that the source code is auditable so it is difficult to sneak in viruses, and there is no registration fee. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen a video with a watermark for some poorly made recording software in the corner. OBS is a simple, no bs way to record audio and video, as well as your desktop.
