Gimkit describes itself as "remote learning, but actually engaging." It's similar to Kahoot! in some ways. Gimkit has options for both live and independent practice. Students answer questions on their own devices. The Gimkit live is similar to Kahoot!'s traditional game style. During independent practice, students are shown each question multiple times to make sure that they understand it. They also answer questions at their own pace. If they answer a question correctly, they can earn in-game currency. But, they may also be deducted in-game currency if they answer a question incorrectly. Students can use the currency that they earn to buy upgrades and power-ups within the game. A bonus of Gimkit is that it generates a report after every game that lets the teacher know what each student needs more help with.
