Funbrain is a very useful website for making learning fun inside and outside of the classroom. Students can access multiple different areas of the Funbrain website after they are shown how to get there, each with different kinds of material to enjoy and learn from. First there is the math arcade which lets them either enter in information on whether they are a boy or a girl and their grade level and then they can progress along a path while they beat games and learn math. Every time they beat a game they will get a code so they can return to where they left off if they have to leave. If they don't want to go along the path they can also choose from a list of math games. Then there is a reading section for students to choose from a list of books, comics, and reading games to build on their reading skills. Then there is a fun arcade with the same pathway system as the math arcade but it is full of games of different subjects that build on different kinds of skills. Just like the math arcade, students can avoid the path and pick from a list of games. Next is the playground which has a list of more games that each build on a different skill for your students. Finally there is the Video Zone section which is organized into different sections based on what the videos will teach the students; for example some videos teach students about animals. Funbrain would be a great learning tool to introduce to your students at the elementary level and they can continue to enjoy it and learn with it when they leave class. Funbrain was used in my elementary classrooms it just looked a little different back then but it still had most of the same features and themes. We got to use Funbrain if we finished any tasks that were given to us when we had computers available to us. This shows that teachers know that Funbrain is a valuable learning tool and students will enjoy using it.
