Blog Post #1 ZOOM

All About Zoom

Hello everyone! I am writing to share with you all some information on using zoom. I am currently using zoom daily for virtual teaching in Wyandotte, MI. First of all, let me just say that when I first started to use zoom, I was confused...but now I understand it. Zoom is a way you can chat using voice, video, and chat rooms. Zoom also has break rooms you can set up automatically or manually. Break rooms work great for small/large groups. For example, during math in 3rd grade, both teachers split up the students and worked with them to better understand the lesson. So, how do you use zoom? The first step is to go to www.zoom.com and create an account. Then you can play around with zoom and either join or create your own meetings. You will receive your own zoom meeting account number. You can create recurring on-going meetings or single simple meetings. When you host a meeting, you will automatically be the host, where you are allowed to mute, stop videos, share screens, and create break rooms. Once you have created a meeting, you can directly send the invitations to anyone's email address.. Those who receive these invites can simple click on the link at the time it starts and join your meeting. Using zoom is very productive in hosting classroom sessions virtually, so far, so good!
