Storybird

Storybird

The online site known as Storybird, allows students and teachers to write and read books. That doesnt sound entirely special. But by reading books, those books are short stories written by other students. Those students are from around the world, essentially whoever has access to the site, can write a story. Teachers can then monitor and read stories posted by their students. This is a way for students to submit their writings, as opposed to submitting them directly to the teacher. Students upload their articles or novels to their class group, allowing for peer reading. No data is obtained from students and upload is private to your class period. Set up is east and requires no email address or challenges. This program can allow students to discover different genres or styles of pieces.

Writings for students varies on their level of education. There are picture books for Elementary Schoolers or novels for everyone above 6th grade. In addition, there is an option for poetry for any age. The site is free to use, they even help raise money for schools.
